Cremation services are available and can often save families even more money. However, because we believe in the importance of the entire funeral process, including viewing of the body during a time of visitation, we think that the actual cremation should occur after the funeral service and not before.
However, the option of having the cremation occur before a gathering of family and friends is available. This is often referred to as a “Memorial Service”. With a memorial service only the loved one’s cremains are present at the visitation gathering and service.
Whether you choose a traditional funeral service or only a memorial service, we believe that it is important to acknowledge, recognize and honor the importance of a life that was lived. And although this can be done almost anywhere, most people choose to have a minister conduct the service in the comfort of a church setting.
